So in joining the cohort, one of our goals and one of my goals was to learn co regulation. So I've been learning a lot of how to self regulate. But when it came to like attuning to each other's emotions as a couple, without getting defensive or hurt or it turning into like an argument was a really big deal for us as a couple to try to get like some tools and some exercises under our belt to do it together.

So a shift for me, I think, during the cohort was to recognize that, like, you know, it's okay to ask your partner to co regulate with you and to be able to say, like, you know, we do affect each other, and it's not just all on us to be alone in everything. Like, you know, we are responsible for our own emotions, and we are responsible to, you know, regulate ourselves. But as a partnership, that it's okay to want to, you know, lean into each other for support and to feel like the other person cares. And, you know, not just out of obligation, but because we want to be there for each other. And so learning that attunement and knowing, like, where our responsibility for ourselves lies, but the balance of where, you know, there is kind of like an accountability for being and showing up for each other as well.

For anyone who's thinking of joining, I just couldn't say it enough that it is worth every minute being there. You always get something out of it. That's just investing in your family. It's investing in your marriage and making things stronger and your bond together stronger. And even just seeing other people and other couples go through similar things, you don't feel so alone and like, uniquely, oh, my goodness, like, it's just, just us with these problems. But no, like, just being able to, you know, relate to other people and see what other people have gone through, it just makes you have more empathy for each other and understand to maybe not take everything so personally and to recognize, like, we all have things to work on and they're not as unique as you would think they are, but it's just worth it. It's worth the time and energy into joining the cohort.
